William J. Amann concentrates his practice in the areas of bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, commercial litigation and real estate. For over Twenty-Years, he has regularly and expertly represented national and regional creditors in federal and state courts in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Attorney Amann has also been admitted (pro hac vice) to the United States Federal Court in and for the Southern District Of New York for multi-state, commercial litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, he served as legal counsel to a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee for the District of New Hampshire. In addition, Bill has considerable experience in the areas of Chapter 11’s and 13’s, commercial turnarounds, debt restructuring, cases involving Equitable Subordination, Preferences, dischargeability litigation, Stay Relief motions, Plan Objections, Fraudulent Transfers, Claim Objections defense, debt re-characterization, 363 asset sales, construction law, mechanics’ liens, voluntary and contested corporate dissolution, Directors & Officers Liability, corporate entity creation, all aspects of title insurance, real estate conveyancing, land use, receiverships, premises liability, employment law, evictions and probate administration.

While Bill principally represents creditors in bankruptcy and commercial litigation, he also is passionate about representing small to mid-sized debtor corporations and specializes in extra-ordinary, typically litigated, individual cases too, often involving bankruptcy, taxation and pre-default liquidation and strategic asset planning. As a former Managing Attorney at a Boston based law firm, Bill supervised more than 10 attorneys and a staff of 50 paralegals including responsibilities ranging from human resources, financial management and operations to coordinating overall and specific litigation strategies, mentoring attorneys and staff, managing foreclosures throughout all New England states, real estate conveyancing, REO’s, closings, adversary proceedings in bankruptcy cases and client relations and development. Attorney Amann is in charge of the firm’s North Andover, Massachusetts office.

Attorney Amann is an annual editor for the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Supreme Court At-a-Glance article series, sits on the ABI’s (American Bankruptcy Institute) Consumer Advisory Board and regularly speaks before professional and trade groups on the topics of bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and real estate law.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Amann worked at Fidelity Investments as a Trade Resolution Specialist and prior to that, worked for Ford Motor Credit Company as an Account Executive and Branch Legal Liaison. In his free time, Bill enjoys hiking, sailing, cooking, travelling and making memories with his friends and family.
